LDV is serious about leading the electric light commercial vehicle market in Australia within two years, and the eDeliver 7 van will play a key role.
Due here either late in 2023 or early in 2024, the eDeliver 7 will offer a 77kWh battery. Depending on the variant, this offers up to 370km of range on the WLTP cycle.
A long-range 88kWh battery is also coming, offering an extra 32-48km of range.
The eDeliver 7 can be charged using AC or DC power, with the 77kWh battery offering a charging rate of 90kW.
The electric van has a 150kW/330Nm front-mounted electric motor.
LDV’s new Toyota HiAce rival will also offer the option of a diesel powertrain like its current G10 and V80 models, with more details on timing coming in 2024. The company has previously confirmed it will launch new vehicles in electric guise first, and with combustion power second.
The diesel counterpart to the eDeliver 7 is known as the V70 in China, and comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine available in both 125kW/320Nm and 150kW/375Nm tunes.
The eDeliver 7 will be available in Australia with short- and mid-wheelbase bodies with a standard roof, and a mid-wheelbase high roof model. LDV hasn’t confirmed the related people mover variant for our market, however.
LDV also promises the eDeliver 7 has been priced to make it “accessible to many, many more” Australian businesses.
All models will come with a suite of active safety and driver assist features, as well as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
LDV has developed new infotainment software that can integrate both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Available safety equipment in China includes autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera and traffic sign recognition.
The eDeliver 7 slots in underneath the eDeliver 9, measuring 5364mm long, 2030mm wide, 1990mm tall on a 3366mm wheelbase. That’s around the size of a Ford Transit Custom, which will gain an electric variant in Australia during 2024.
Specifications for the UK-market eDeliver 7 list a braked towing capacity of 1500kg and a payload of between 1025kg and 1200kg, depending on the variant.
The eDeliver 7 measures 4998mm long, 2030mm wide and 1990mm tall on a 3000mm wheelbase. The extended-length version is 5364mm long on a 3366mm wheelbase.
Cargo volume is 5.9m3 in standard guise, 6.7m3 with the longer wheelbase, and 8.7m3 in long wheelbase guise with the high roof.
While the eDeliver 7/V70 seem to be direct replacements for the G10 and ancient V80, LDV hasn’t confirmed those older vans will be dropped in favour of the new ones.
