Ford Australia is recalling 110 examples from Ranger ute and Everest SUV to fix a problem that may cause the remote control for the dealer-installed ARB winch to malfunction.
The recall affects current generation Ford Ranger and Everest models produced between 2021 and 2022.
“The internal circuit board of the remote control for the ARB/WARN VR EVO winch can corrode if exposed to water,” the company said in its recall notice.
“Corrosion on the circuit board of the remote control can cause the winch cable to stop, wind up, or release unexpectedly.”
If you own an affected vehicle, Ford will contact you in writing to set up an appointment at a Ford dealer of your choice for remote control replacement, free of charge.
If you have further questions, you can contact the Ford Customer Contact Center on 133 673.
