The Buick lineup is going through some changes. While waiting to welcome the Envista SUV to American showrooms, the company has been busy refreshing its current offerings. After introducing its new face and logo on the refreshed Encore GX, Buick is giving the 2024 Envision a similar makeover.
Wild Cat Face
Inspired by the Buick Wildcat concept—an eccentric electric coupe that’s purely a design exercise—the Envision facelift not only gives the compact SUV a fresh look, but it also keeps its exterior styling in line with the upcoming Encore GX and Envista. Its appearance is accentuated by sharp, high-mounted LED accent lights that sit atop discreetly integrated headlights. A new trapezoidal grille also sits lower than the one it replaced, and the ’24 Envision saw the addition of Buick’s new tri-shield logo.
While Buick hasn’t released a photo showing the entire dashboard, it’s clear from the image above that it will feature a dash-mounted digital display like the one found on the 2024 Encore GX. The latter setup combines an 8.0-inch gauge cluster and an 11.0-inch touchscreen under a piece glass. It’s possible it could be the Envision’s base configuration, but it’s likely to at least offer a larger display, perhaps reserved for the higher-spec Avenir trim and potentially the 30-inch curved OLED screen from the Chinese Buick Electra E5.
Buick Adds Super Cruise
For 2024, the Envision will be available with GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. This makes the Envision Buick the first to offer the feature, which allows the vehicle to cruise without the driver’s hands on the steering wheel. It can also change lanes on its own, but Super Cruise currently only works on pre-mapped limited access highways.
Buick has been coy about other details about the updated Envision, so we’ll have to wait a little longer until the list of available features, powertrain specs and pricing are released. The 2023 Buick Envista has a base price of $34,745 and is offered in three trim levels: Preferred, Essence and Avenir. All three are powered by a 228-hp turbo four with either front- or all-wheel drive.
While we could see the Sport Touring (ST) package become its own trim on the 2024 Buick Envision, as it did with the updated Encore, we don’t expect any powertrain changes.
