LS Black Edition
The LS Black Edition adds 20-inch black alloy wheels, premium paint, and darkened door mirrors, bumpers and grille. Inside there’s a black headliner, black “laser-engraved” gearshift surround, plus ‘Mi-Suede’ seats with synthetic leather bolsters.
All 2023 Mitsubishi Outlanders now feature an expanded autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system that now works when reversing, as well as memory settings for automatic hold functions and HVAC coolant updates.
The entry-level Outlander ES gets further added safety in the form of rear cross-traffic alert and automatic high beams.
However, there is a downside: the Outlander ES grade now switches to an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, replacing the 9.0-inch interface with wireless Apple CarPlay – “due to ongoing parts supply constraints” .
Further up the range, the Outlander Exceed and the flagship Exceed Tourer pickup Mitsubishi’s MI-PILOT driver assistant.
This adds Traffic Congestion Assist (adaptive cruise control that re-engages after coming to a complete stop), Lane Keeping Assist (uses steering control assistance rather than wheel braking), and Speed Limit Assist (adaptive cruise control that matches the Outlander to the indicated speed limit).
The steering wheel in this grade will now feature a touch sensor to handle MI-PILOT engagement, and will disengage the system when the driver’s grip is not detected, when the turn signal is activated or when the windshield wipers are operated continuously at their highest speed.
