- The 2023 Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition will be limited to 1000 copies worldwide.
- The Grand Edition features matte black paint and unique gold exterior accents
- Mercedes hasn’t said how much the G63 Grand Edition will cost, and it hasn’t said yet whether it will be offered in the US market.
Although the Mercedes-Benz G-class is known for its off-road capabilities, it is also known as a machine used by celebrities and the wealthy to flaunt their status. The 577-hp AMG G63 variant is especially bougie, and the newly introduced Grand Edition takes it to the next level.
As the kids say, the 2023 Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition has some serious stuff dripping. For those who don’t know what that means, Google’s search function is a useful resource. In short, the SUV’s matte black paint (MANUFAKTUR Night Black Magno) and exclusive gold exterior accents give it a stylish look.
There’s nothing subtle about the G-wagen’s unmistakable shape and style that can be traced back to its 1979 origins. Just a few years earlier, 1977 movie Smokey and the Bandit popular theater, featuring Burt Reynolds behind the wheel of a black-and-gold Pontiac Trans Am. The G63 Grand Edition exudes the same vibe, with gold-colored decals and multi-spoke wheels. The latter is a fake 22-inch painted Tech Gold, which matches the color of the side graphics. Mercedes also says the Affalterbach emblem in the Kalahari Gold Magno is “emblazoned” on the hood in what sounds like a German version of Pontiac’s screaming chicken.
The Mercedes three-pointed star emblem, AMG badging, and details on both bumpers and the rear-mounted spare tire carrier are also coated in Kalahari Gold Magno. Inside, the Grand Edition features black nappa leather with gold contrast stitching. The same color combo is used on the floor mats, and above the glove box is a plaque on the handle bars that reads “Grand Edition” with a bold “G”. For G-wagen, understand?
Some might say the G63 Grand Edition is luxurious, but others might call it flashy. Either way, Mercedes says it only plans to sell 1000 copies worldwide. The company did not say how much the limited production model would cost, nor did it release any information about a potential US version, which will be announced later.
