    Overview

The Portofino M hardtop-convertible is one of the more restrained models in Ferrari’s lineup, aimed at comfortable cruising on sunny days as well as at high-speed fun. Our time with the front-engined Italian grand tourer proved that it provides a luxurious and comfortable driving experience. Its driving dynamics are smooth thanks to its stunning ride and well-tuned handling. His behavior around town is docile. But if you want to step up the fun, Portofino is ready. It’s a twin-turbo V-8 that puts out 612 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque and works with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to thrust its slick sheet metal into the air with gusto. It also has a driving mode labeled “racing.” We estimate that the intense power delivery is enough to push it to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. And of course, the Portofino boasts an eye-catching design and a handsome interior lined with rich leather. It also hints at practicality with a small rear seat. But not very practical. This is a Ferrari after all.

    What’s New for 2023?

Ferrari hasn’t made any changes to the Portofino M hard-top convertible for the 2023 model year.

Price and Which One to Buy

In a world where some luxury brands—cough, Porsche—offering an incredibly long list of add-ons, Ferrari makes life easier by limiting your options. We’ll make our choice with optional front seats that come with ventilation and heating, and we’ll also add advanced driver technology, which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams and more. Ferrari offers aluminum footrests and a passenger display, but we don’t see the need for them. Beyond those few options, all that’s left is choosing the body color, interior, brake calipers, gauges, and exhaust pipes and wheel design.

    Engine, Transmission and Performance

Ferrari is defined by its engine as much as its style, and the twin-turbo 3.9-liter V-8 hiding under the Portofino’s elongated hood is excellent. The engine sends 612 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. But a claimed top speed of “in excess of 199 mph” and an estimated zero-to-60-mph time of 3.1 seconds aren’t the most impressive; it’s an unmistakable timbre that erupts from the exhaust tip as the Portofino’s tach needle charges towards the engine’s 7500 rpm redline. The Our Portofino M drove in the Florida Keys exhibiting a comfortable ride and exceptional body control from well-tuned adaptive dampers. While its electrically assisted steering provides satisfying feedback, the setup isn’t quite as exciting Porsche provided in his sports car. Every Portofino also has carbon ceramic brakes that ensure these big GTs can be stopped quickly.

    More about the Portofino Convertible

Real World Fuel Economy and MPG

The 2023 Portofino M is rated at 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Both figures are less than V-8-powered rivals like the Bentley Continental GT (16/26 mpg city/highway) and Aston Martin DB11(18/24 mpg city/highway). Since we haven’t tested the Portofino or one of those alternatives on our 75-mph fuel economy route, which is part of our extensive testing regimen, we can’t say how efficient they are in the real world. For more information on the Portofino’s fuel economy, visit the website EPA website.

    Interior, Comfort and Cargo

Inside, the Portofino delights the eye with great design and impressive materials. Its various surfaces are stitched together with handsome leather, and the 18-way power-adjustable front seats are sculpted to provide comfort and support. The bucket can also be equipped with ventilation and neck heating functions. neat. There’s a handy wind deflector that helps keep the cabin quiet at speed when the top is down too. With a pair of small bucket seats behind the front passengers, the Ferrari convertible can technically transport up to four people. However, we don’t recommend anyone spend time there; use the space for your gym bag. A useful tray is placed in front of the center console to store small items, and there is even a place to store drinks nearby. With the top up, there is enough room to fit golf clubs inside the Portofino’s trunk. With the top down, it’s a challenge to store more than a briefcase inside.

    Car and Driver Difference

    Infotainment and Connectivity

The infotainment system on a Ferrari is like a spare tire on a Buick: it’s nice to have when you need it, but not something anyone will ask. Nevertheless, the Portofino includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen mounted in the center of the dashboard. We found the unit responsive during our limited exposure, and the optional front-passenger-facing touchscreen lets them view performance data and even operate the car’s navigation system.

How to Buy and Maintain a Car

    Safety Features and Driver Assistance

Hot Italian convertible deals driver assistance technology, but none of them are standard. Key safety features include:

    • Automatic emergency braking is available with pedestrian detection
    • Blind spot monitoring is available
    • Adaptive cruise control is available

    Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Ferrari’s warranty coverage is in line with other luxury car makers such as Lamborghini. It also offers 15 years of extended coverage for extra coins. Ferrari also offers the best free maintenance program, with seven years of coverage regardless of mileage.

    • The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
    • Powertrain warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles
    • Free maintenance covered for seven years and unlimited miles
